“Holy granola they tore down the Safeway,” I yelled driving through Mill Valley last week.
In case you don’t know, north of San Francisco is Marin County where there’s less fog, more sunshine and even more money. The dreary Safeways in Mill Valley always surprised me. And while a lot of these well-heeled Mill Valley-ites slogged through them robotically a lot more went shopping at WFM or Mill Valley Market.
While Safeway is getting serious about building lifestyle stores is WFM getting worried? Given mainstream merchants ongoing clumsy attempts to NBN doubts it, but I’m looking forward to the grand opening.
