United Natural Foods released strong figures for the fourth quarter that leaving analysts and others yelling the equivalent of “VA va va voom, baby, shake it!” UNFI sales increased 22% for the quarter and 23% for the fiscal year, with yearly earnings of $41.6. on over $2 billion in sales.
UNFI cited increased sales from existing independents and natural product supermarkets along with new customer sales as reasons for the growth. NBN wonders if Tree of Life’s performance in providing customer service is another big factor in UNFI’s continued surge.
On another note we’re pouring more coffee at our office and reaching for some Advil right now as we think back to that day 3.5 years ago when NBN sold it’s UNFI stock. This was before it split, before it grew past the splitting price.….okay enough for now…sniff…sniff.
