Cheese Burger Served on a Donut Debuts

Thanks to Warren Jones and Leann Ledebuhr at SPINS for forwarding a link to the website of the minor league baseball franchise the Gateway Grizzlies. Seems that in order to pick up ticket sales the team has created some unique items in their concession stands. As my friend notes, and we can’t understand why Americans are obese?

In 2004 the franchise added what they called “Baseball’s Best Hotdog” hit GMC Stadium. It a 1/5 pound 8 inch hot dog, topped with two strips of freshly cooked bacon, sautéed Onions, sautéed sauerkraut and ½ ounce of cheddar cheese sauce. In 2005 they introduced the “Swiss Brat” a Bratwurst with a slice of Swiss cheese in the middle of it.

And this year they really hit a home run. The Grizzlies will be serving, and I KID YOU NOT, a cheeseburger served on a Krispy Kreme donut. Pass the Swedish bitters folks; this monster contains a burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon, placed in between each side of a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut.
